KOM of Lubes

I’ve used Mountain Flow’s ski products for years and decided to try their wax lube. I set multiple KOMs the first time out after using this lube. Is it because I’m in pretty good shape or because of the lube? Probably the lube. My drivetrain is way cleaner and I’m seeing a longer intervals between applications compared the Dumonde Tech Lite.

Park City MTB NICA Coach - Love the product

After decades of other lube, I now have 3 years with about 4500 dirt miles using this product and it is perfect for drier Utah climates. I have it on two different bikes - one with ASX and the other traditional drive chain and performance is top notch. The key is a clean chain to start, then re-apply 2-4 rides. Its plant based and eco friendly, which is an added bonus. Love it.

Excellent Lube. Best I’ve used in 40 years of mountain biking

This is fantastic lube. Foremost it provides excellent lubrication to the chain rollers without gooping up the rest of the system. This lube requires application every 1-3 rides. It works fantastic when we are traveling, as it doesn’t attract grime from the road or the trail. Easy to apply and maintain when water and handwashing are in limited supply (van travel). Also a total bonus that it is made from natural ingredients rather than hydrocarbons, so I don't mind having it around our camp, home, pets and people. In all my years as a rider and some as a professional mechanic, I prefer this to any previous products I’ve used.

This stuff works pretty well, and it’s nice to not have to deal with the toxic chemically smell that comes with some waxes. Only thing is that it dribbles all over coming out of the bottle, more so than traditional wax based lubes. Felt like I needed to use more to get enough to actually apply to the chain, but once on it works just as well as any other wax based lube.

LOVE!

This has become my go-to product! I have been using this product for a little over a year now, in which I have split my time between Squamish and Colorado/Utah. I have no complaints with the product itself and love that it's plant based. Would ( and do) recommend to anyone! Keep it up mountainflow!

No compromise needed for great performance

Ive been looking for a Plant based product to keep my bike chain running optimally. Good for my bike, good for me and good for the environment.

lube

I bought your product because you met a cyclist named Diego in Redstone CO and you were on the video he posted on you tube, so far the lube seems ok and clean

The cornerstone for all conditions

It's like the bed of rice or pasta to an amazing dinner: not the standout flavor, but absolutely necessary for the complete meal experience. Best used with a pairing of the dry or all-weather lubes to make for a bomber experience that lasts for several rides before re-application. Once I started, I couldn't stop. High performance with no environmental cost: killer combo.

Great lubricant

Great lubricant for bicycle chain. Reduces wear and keeps chain cleaner compared to traditional lubricant. Easy to use and easy to clean for reapplication. Smooth shifting and quiet drivetrain. Highly recommend.

My new favorite

This lube has impressed me. Emtb rider. This lube lasts longer than or keeps the chain lubed longer than any other lube Ive used. I ride the dry SoCal trails. It does seem to hold up pretty well through creek crossings as well. Cant speak to all wet conditions but I think this would work there also. Give it a try. You wont be disappointed

Zero creaks from downpours to dust

No matter what the conditions are, this has become my go-to chain lube. The wax does a good job battling the mid-summer dust while still remaining intact during torrential downpours.

Im a Convert~!

As a coach of the Park City MTB team, I have found the product to stand up to the rigorous test of 100+ plus high-desert rides a season. Im glad to be promoting to my team and on my socials. Thanks for helping the planet guys!

Great eco-friendly!

I have to admit I've been pleasantly surprised. Often a true eco product comes with a caveat towards outright performance, but I didn't find any downsides in this case. As long as guidance on the application is followed, this lube worked a charm in the dry and mildly damp conditions I have been riding in lately, with very little mess or accumulated dirt and grime building up on the chain and jockey wheels.

Good for your chain, good for the environment

Being an avid outdoor recreationalist, I appreciate it when there is an option to use plant based lubricants verses petroleum based. After all, the environment is important to me. This plant based lube is doing what it's supposed to do thus far. It's been warm and dry for months now up here in the PNW, perfect conditions for this lubricant. My gears and cogs seem quite happy and are running smoothly under its care. When the rains do eventually return, however, I will likely need to use one of those petroleum based lubricants again.

This Lube Can Do It All

This product was billed as a dry lubricant but it has become my go-to lube in all conditions. It does great on the dry and dusty trails and my chain doesn't pick up any grime. I've also gotten got out in a few downpours and thought that my lube would be toast, but it wasn't. Seemed to hold up just fine.

Great, ecofriendly, and easy to use!

I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. This lube is great! Not only is it ecofriendly but the fact that it is white makes it easy to see where I have applied it already and reduces waste. It also is a little thicker than a traditional oil based lube so I don't have to worry about it running or getting on other products. Overall, I'm really impressed with the quality and I think this little bottle will last for a long time. It's also nice to see more ecofriendly products, especially since I ride in the woods and I want to be conscious of any products I'm leaving behind.

Great for desert riding

Big fan of wax vs lube in the desert where I do all my riding. Its great and works well as long as its applied after a ride and rinsed off and left to dry overnight. Otherwise its wet and defeats the purpose. Also Im a huge fan of the biodegradable aspect. Makes me feel better about applying outside and not leaving chemicals behind.

A Total Home Run!

Most lubes that are good in dry conditions are just too thin and don't last long enough but not this one. The lube dried about 10 minutes after putting it on, which was great for the dusty trails near me. Also, it lasted forever, definitely longer than the dry lube I was using before.

Great Plant Based Lube Option

I ride typically in wet conditions and finding a lube that is effective, easy to use, and eco friendly is an absolute must. In my opinion hard to find a plant based product that is effective in keeping the chain moving smoothly and still sheds off all the grimy stuff that gets attached to the chain. With this lube, it was super easy to use, eco friendly, and kept my chain running smoothly.

Great Eco-friendly wax!

This is my first time using wax based lube and I dont think Ill go back. I ride on the road and trails a few times a week, so far this lube is riding and shifting just as smoothly as any other. Because the lube comes out milky white its easier to see when your chain is fully lubed and it seems to drip less during the application (not sure if this is the case for all wax lines or just this one?). I also (mostly) love that its environmentally friendly! Oh and I LOVE that its environmentally friendly!

Great eco-friendly wax that goes on easy; low dust

I have typically used petroleum-based lubes for my MTB chain so I was intrigued to see how a true wax, and a plant-based one at that, would perform. First impression when applying was how different the color and consistency of this mountainFLOW wax is compared to something petroleum-based; it comes out very milky, which has the benefit of helping you see where it's been applied. The instructions say to spin out the chain immediately and let dry for five minutes before removing excess, which is quicker and more straightforward than other lubes, which say an hour or more. Removing the excess was easy enough, and again aided by the milky color. The lube appeared to penetrate the chain rollers well and cling to the metal. I ride mainly dry-to-moist singletrack MTB trails in the southeast US and so far this wax has held up and does not attract dust or dirt at all after 3 rides - an improvement over petro-lubes, which can collect dust if not thoroughly wiped off. After a muddier ride, I lightly sprayed off some the drivetrain components with water only and wiped down, and the chain seems to be good to go still. Ultimately, time will tell how this product will hold up longevity-wise to a petroleum-based lube and how well it maintains chain life, but so far I am impressed. I certainly appreciate the plant-base of this product and am generally positive on the idea of chain waxes after trying mountainFLOW's product.

Good chain lube, a little thicker than others

Seems like good chain lube. It goes on a little thicker than some other chain lubes I've used which is nice. I think that helps it actually stay on the chain instead of just dripping off. The applicator is pretty liberal which makes spilling lube on the ground likely.

World's BEST chain lube!

The equal of any other brand of chain lube and Plant Based to boot! Clean your chain with a stiff brush & apply modestly. You won't be doing much drive train cleaning 'cause Eco -wax doesn't attract dirt. When conditions are wet; well NO chain lube stays in the chain.

If you love it lube it.

I wasn't convinced that a plant-based lube would be any good. Wow, was I wrong? The Wax is the way to go, to get the best result, you need to start with a nice clean drive train; I use my Park Tool chain cleaner to get everything super clean and dry. Then apply the Wax like a regular lube. I love this part it's so easy. I apply it the day before I plan to ride or at least a few hours before because you want it to get into the rollers and dry. I was getting 5-7 rides on my mountain bike before felt I need to re-apply. I am planted on the wax now, great stuff highly recommend it.

Super Lube

Great chain lube. Works best when applied after the ride, so it can dry and be ready for the next ride. Keeps the drive train clean. Would give it 5 stars if it lasted a bit better once wet, guess that's why they make the Wet Lube. Highly recommend there products!

Great for dry weather crushed stone trails

Purchased for my new bike and have used about 4 times over the summer. Great dry lube. It is easy to apply and cleans up easy. My chain is quiet.
